Richard V. Rupp, Author

Richard V. Rupp in his second life is an author of crime novels. His first novel in the FBI Special Agent Hartmann series Death & Taxes was published in August 2015. It received excellent reviews and received the Benjamin Franklin Silver Award from the Independent Book Publishers Association for Best New Voice in Fiction. His second novel Death on the High Seas is completed and should be published shortly.

Before writing crime fiction, Dick was an internationally recognized lecturer, writer, and published author on the subjects of insurance and risk management. He was born in Santa Monica, California and grew up in a Hollywood movie industry family. He served in the Army Reserve where he was assigned to the Army Finance Corp. His business career led him to the commercial insurance industry, where he became an executive that specialized in developing new insurance products and risk financing concepts. His forte was research, writing, and designing risk management and risk funding products to be used by major corporations. His positions allowed him to travel the world including frequent trips to London, Bermuda, and Cayman.

Dick now splits his time between Los Angeles and Palm Desert, California.
